PROPAGANDA – the use of a variety of communication techniques that create an emotional appeal to accept a particular belief or opinion, to adopt a certain behavior or to perform a particular action(source)

QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN IDENTIFYING PROPAGANDA:
1. How does this benefit the speaker?
2. Why did they do/say that?
3. According to whom?

When you read an ad,
ask theses questions:
  1. Who is the target audience? 
  2. What is the purpose of the ad? 
  3. How are graphics used in the ad? Fonts? Color? 
  4. Are there any propaganda techniques used in the presentation of the ad? 
  5. Am I paying attention to details?
