iPads in Education

I think that tablets are the future. Computers are getting smaller and cell phones are getting bigger - the tablet is where they will converge. The MLTI program has been a powerful asset to Maine schools and it will be interesting to see if schools begin to move away from laptops (especially since the MacBook is going the way of the Dodo) and toward tablets. Below is section of a blog post that contains links to a comparison of tablets and laptops.

"On the Palm Beach County schools' iPad in Education wiki you will find a chart comparing the iPad to desktop and laptop options. The chart breaks down the costs and capabilities of each scenario. On the wiki you'll find long lists of iPad apps appropriate for elementary, middle, and high school students. And if you need help just learning to use an iPad the iPad in Education wiki lists a bunch of good tutorial videos and other tutorial materials."
